The song will repeat

Lyrics
YOU CAN TELL YOUR OLD MAN
YOU’LL DO SOME LARGE MOUTH FISHIN’ ANOTHER TIME
YOU JUST GOT TOO MUCH ON YOUR PLATE
TO BAIT AND CAST A LINE
YOU CAN ALWAYS PUT THAT A RAINCHECK IN HIS HAND
‘TIL YOU CAN’T

YOU CAN KEEP PUTTIN’ OFF FOREVER
WITH THAT GIRL WHO’S HEART YOU HOLD
SWEARIN’ THAT YOU’LL ASK SOMEDAY
FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD
YOU CAN ALWAYS PUT A DIAMOND ON HER HAND
‘TIL YOU CAN’T

IF YOU GOT A CHANCE TAKE IT
TAKE IT WHILE YOU GOT A CHANCE
IF YOU GOT A DREAM CHASE IT
‘CAUSE A DREAM WON’T CHASE YOU BACK
IF YOU’RE GONNA LOVE SOMEBODY
HOLD ‘EM AS LONG AND AS STRONG AND AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN
‘TIL YOU CAN’T

THERE’S A BOX OF GREASY PARTS
SITTIN’ IN THE TRUNK OF THAT ‘65
STILL WAITIN’ ON YOU AND YOUR GRANDAD
TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE
YOU CAN ALWAYS GET AROUND
TO FIXIN’ UP THAT PONTIAC
‘TIL YOU CAN’T

SO TAKE THAT PHONE CALL FROM YOUR MAMA
AND JUST TALK AWAY
‘CAUSE YOU’LL NEVER KNOW HOW BAD YOU WANNA
‘TIL YOU CAN’T SOMEDAY
DON’T WAIT ON TOMORROW
‘CAUSE TOMORROW MAY NOT SHOW
SAY YOUR SORRY’S
YOUR I LOVE YOU’S
‘CAUSE MAN YOU NEVER KNOW

Thank y’all for all the support on the music video!

True Story: I heard this song for the first time about two months ago. I was driving home from work and it hit me hard! Inspired me to pursue my dream of attending seminary and becoming a pastor. I have put off the Good Lord’s calling for too long. Blessed to say I start my first semester at Dallas Thelogical Seminary in January. “If you got a dream, chase it!” Thank you, Cody Johnson! You have truly inspired this ole boy from South GA.

I cried when I 1st heard this song then smiled, I lost my 18 yr old son 5 yrs ago. My daughter was 2 yrs old and all I could do was focus on my pain, then the Lord spoke to my heart and said “do not focus on what I have taken from you, focus on what I left you with”

Let’s lift up artists like Cody Johnson. Keep singing about what really matters!!!

I’m not really into country music. But every once and a while, A song comes out that is undeniable. This is one of those songs.

I just lost my dad a couple of months ago and I heard this song and it broke me. Every word is truth. Hold onto the ones you love life is so precious!

Lost my son last October, he was 23. This song….for some reason reminds me of him. It has hit me really hard. His birthday is coming up on the 8th of March and I’m having a really hard time with it. I’ve listened to this song about a dozen or so times back to back, it’s helping me deal with the loss of my son. Thank you for such a wonderful song. One day at a time.
