I’m excited for this Alicia Vikander never disappoints. She is excellence in the acting world. ❤️

I hate the fact alicia is so underrated but at the same time i want her to be our little secret

I have been waiting for Alicia’s new production for a long long long time!!!! I am so excited! She is such a talented actress!

I adore Alicia and this looks fantastic!

Not an easy task to inhabit a role that Maggie Cheung absolutely incarnated.

I don’t know how I feel about this, some movies just don’t need to be remade and the original is already so iconic. Perhaps they’re remaking it since the original had long sequences spoken in French, if this is the case audiences just need to step up and explore some more foreign cinema and prove that remakes are redundant.

Huh. Was not expecting this. Part of the charm of the Assayas film for me was the layers that came from an Asian film star wandering around in the European art/indie film world, but this version might have another approach that works, too. I’ll judge after watching.

As a few others have said, this is a weird choice of film to remake (as a series or whatever). Maggie and Olivier were together when the original film was made and a large part of what made it interesting was her being in a non-Hong Kong production. It’s an oddity, the original, an independent passion project. Not a bad film per se but….I’m trying to think of an equivalent….Bufallo 66 perhaps, or Resevoir Dogs, or Lost in Translation. FIlms which exist in their own place and time.

Ah, the wispy lines, the magic in the world between truth and lies. Where does the actress end and the characters begin? Alicia Vikanders heavenly smile, her yearning, smoky, passionate yet slightly sad eyes always gives me… boyoyoyoinngggg! Mwahahahaha!

I would have rather Olivier Assayas left this alone and done something entirely new but it’s his art
