That was really well done. Everyone should be able to have a connection with their grandparents.

I grew up in this era, outhouses, etc, because i was in a rural part of mississippi. We never went hungry- hogs, chicken, cattle, my grandparents huge farm. It really was wonderful. I miss the simple life. Word of mouth in the day. We roamed the woods like crazy. Simple life Just simple. No one I meet now could ever understand.

I was Very touched by movie. Remember my own grand parents. They are leading stars for me forever. Grand parents take not only care of their own children but also grand children. They are unconditional guardians.💐💐💐👍👍

Nice movie. Excellent story line. Fine acting. Tugs the heart. Brings back memories of younger years while living in a rural area away from the amenities of modern life.

This couple reminds me of my farming grandparents, very taciturn and cranky after a lifelong marriage during a time when marriage was made for financial security and not necessarily love. It truly portrayed the quiet, hard life they endured on the farm in a rural community.

LOVE THIS MOVIE! High points to show a sophisticated intellectual diaspora of european descent striving in America’s rural regions.. Its a great feeling to see this much grace and dignity and a beautiful story told.. Well done!

Geneveve Bujold was a beautiful woman, and still is here. She’s allowed herself to grow old with grace and is still lovely. So many times, when seeing films with older actresses ,one is confronted with a plastic face that makes you reel and say …good grief, what on earth happened? What a tragedy? Here we have a lady who has simply aged and looks good on it. Watching this on a foggy, cold Sunday afternoon, with the log fire burning. Perfect.

I grew up in New England, very much the same lifestyle of my grandparents… We were taught how to do anything and everything for the farm and to sustain. I cant say the same is happening to our youth now… God bless us all..

This is on my list for one of the best movies I’ve seen…Very wonderfully done, superb acting, exceptional story, and artfully put together…Thank you Popcorn.

Such a good movie! Young boy getting to know his grandparents with love!💖

A beautiful, beautiful movie. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to see this. This was actually filmed in the ‘Northeast Kingdom’. It’s the only place I’ve ever seen linden trees. Thank you so much for sharing it. Beautiful.

WOW! I always wonder if it is more painful to be lonely alone or be lonely in a relationship? What spectacular performances by all ~ loved it!

Pretty good movie! Good performance of BRUCE DERN and GENEVIEVE BUJOLD. It shows us that old age is not an obstacle stopping ourselves keep doing our best and think how about ending of life is inexorable!

You guys have such amazing taste in movies . I happen to have the same taste . Thanks for uploading such great cinematic experiences & master pieces .

Nice film, there is much recommend the country, especially for raising children. A much more relaxed pace of life. I grew up in a desert town that became a mid-sized city, can’t say it got any better along way. More Yankees, rust belt refugees and misplaced Californians, bringing their brand of genius that always makes things worse. Higher crime, unfriendly neighbors, abominable traffic, urban sprawl, higher taxes, inflated real estate, and carpet bagger politics. Our senators and congressmen haven’t been real residents for years. I miss the open desert on a moonlit night, crystal clear starlight, shockingly blue skies, and wide open spaces. I feel truly free when I can bug out of the city for a while.

Really Enjoyed this movie Good one…its sad how our modern world has lost such a lifestyle living on farms…Irrespective Grandparents play a huge role in grandchildren life..

Wonderful movie. Bruce Dern and Genevieve Bujord were superb as usual. The times and relationships of the 1950’s were so different and unique. Living in remote areas was hard and unlike today. No electricity, outhouses for toilets. Sunday or Saturday bath time in the middle of the kitchen floor in a round galvanized tub. Frozen water pipes. Gardening and canning to make it through the Winter. Ice boxes for refrigerators. Wood stoves to cook. Families survived and made due with what they had. I remember those days. The child in me misses growing up in the 50’s in NW Idaho.

I’m trying to understand what it’s like to have parents near you. A true father and a real mother who grows up with love, gentleness, kindness, patience. A father who teaches you beautiful things about life and how to deal with the dangers of life. I’m trying to understand how it is to have both grandparents near you for a while. To hear them telling me about their youth, their beautiful and less beautiful lives. How they loved and how much they respected. How they met. But unfortunately, I did not have such a thing in this life. I grew up without parents, without their love and not even at the funeral of my grandparents. I did not even know them. Sad but true such stories. A beautiful movie.
