Lyrics

Three little birds sat on my window
And they told me I don’t need to worry
Summer came like cinnamon, so sweet
Little girls, double-dutch on the concrete

Maybe sometimes we got it wrong, but it’s all right
The more things seems to change, the more they stay the same
Ooo, don’t you hesitate

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans
I hope you get your dreams
Just go ahead, let your hair down
You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow

Blue as the sky, sunburnt and lonely
Sipping tea in the bar by the road side
(Just relax, just relax)
Don’t you let those other boys fool you
Gotta love that Afro hairdo

Maybe sometimes we feel afraid, but it’s all right
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change
Don’t you think it’s strange?

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans
I hope you get your dreams

Just go ahead, let your hair down
You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow
Just more than I could take
Pity for pity’s sake
Some nights kept me awake
I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realize that you don’t even have to try any longer?
Do what you want to

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans
I hope you get your dreams
Just go ahead, let your hair down
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans
I hope you get your dreams
Just go ahead, let your hair down
Ooo, you’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow

An ex of mine used to listen to the original. We danced to it and had fun all the time. She passed from Leukemia. This song makes me remember the good times! R.I.P Britt! I miss you

Opinion: Both this version and the cover made by Ritt Momney are good in their own ways. Ritt Momney’s version brings a more modernistic pop feeling to the song. The original version is inspiring and beautiful jazz-pop style (at least that how it feels to me). I enjoy both versions equally. And for those who say that Corinne Bailey Rae should be getting the credit, Ritt Momney Stated that this was a cover in the description of his music video, and it’s also at the very beginning of the video. Feel free to reply with your opinions because I would like to read them.

Fun fact: his voice is really and soft in real life.

The original is upbeat and cheerful

This one is kinda emotional

This version is for homework, and he’s a local guy so that’s awesome.

The original version is for when I get an anxiety attack and need a break from the whole world.

This is what dreamcore actually sounds like.

The original one by Corinne is still one of the best feel good songs made in history 🤍 Glad that people are talking about that gem of a song again.
