ABOUT MOVIE
‘The Last Lion of Liuwa’ is the emotive story of an African wilderness and the last refuge for a solitary Lioness. The Liuwa plain is a spectacular and remote African plain and the source of the mighty Zambezi River. Rich golden grasslands dominate this dramatic landscape; but every year violent storms hit the Liuwa and the Zambezi bursts it’s banks, dramatically transforming this savannah into a vast lake shallow lake. Liuwa’s wildlife is just as dynamic, some leave, others arrive and for those that stay, they have had to adapt to a changing landscape and compete fiercely for territory and food. Our story is told through the eyes of a permanent predator of the Liuwa plain, the last remaining lioness of Liuwa. She is the sole survivor of a senseless massacre that took the rest of her pride. She is a symbol of the Liuwa, a place that challenges all who live here and where adaptation is crucial to survival. Her story is true and she remains the only lion of this very special place.

I was so touched to tears by this video. The story was incredible and so sad at the same time. Lions are meant to live in prides. And the knowing that humans came and killed the rest of her pride family is beyond terrible. As sad as this video is, it helps people around the globe know the dangers that some our majestic lions are in on the daily. Maybe more people will get involved with the life of lions in Africa from around the world and be motivated to make a difference somehow.

Great for the last lion and the calf that grew up without mom. Awesome Story.

Thankful she didn’t leave alone that’s so beautiful. Humans can be so wicked destroying everything our Heavenly Father created. She was a beautiful lioness.

I am teary-eyed right now. Sorry for your loss lady Liuwa, as well as the orphaned wildebeest calf. I feel bad for her mother struggling and fighting for her life and was eaten alive by the hyena. Although we know that this is the life in the wild. The circle and cycle of life. Other creatures needs also to survive like predators. And they play a very important role in balancing the ecosystem.

Thanks for taking us along on your journey to Safari. It’s breathtaking and feeling really close to the wilderness especially on projector viewing giving you almost actual experience.

I love the narrators first person narration and her voice almost makes you think that lion could understand she would clap 👏 in applause ‘good job’

With tears in my eyes I have cried for Lady Liuwa. Magnificent lioness and survivor. I hate the poachers that killed her family. I hope they get what they deserve-death! God please protect Lady Liuwa and all the lions all over the world.

The people who dont appreciate nature , instead persecute it for trophy and game for sure did not realize the presence of God.💕

This was an excellent story and documentary. I wish more people could see this. It was powerful and truly sad and it evoked my tears for the loss of these lions due to evil poaching by humans. It was brilliant to have it narrated by Lady Liuwa and the narrator was perferct.
