Where the Crawdads Sing stars Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People) as “Kya Clark,” Taylor John Smith (Sharp Objects) as “Tate Walker,” Harris Dickinson (The King’s Man) as “Chase Andrews,” Michael Hyatt (Snowfall) as “Mabel,” Sterling Macer, Jr. (Double Down) as “Jumpin’,” and David Strathairn (Nomadland) as “Tom Milton.” Olivia Newman (First Match) directs the screenplay by Lucy Alibar (Beasts of the Southern Wild) based upon the novel by Delia Owens. The 3000 Pictures film is being produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter.

Never knew of Daisy Edgar-Jones, but she’s exactly who I envision as Kya when I read the book. Same with the town, her home, and all the little details. This is awesome.

You can mark down “Carolina” written and performed by Taylor Swift as the first official entry into the “Best Original Song” Awards Race and don’t be surprised if the film itself becomes a player during award season. Looks great. Daisy Edgar-Jones deserves all the love and all the buzz.

This looks so damn good and to top it off there is self written Taylor Swift song that she wrote for the film. I am beyond excited.

One of the most beautifully written novels I’ve ever read. When Daisy was cast as Kya I knew they understood what they were doing. I’m so excited to see this fantastic book come to life. First movie that will get me to go to the movie theaters in a long time.

This looks incredibly eerie, breathtaking, spine-chilling and contrastingly vibrant all at the same time. This is how you make a good film trailer. It doesn’t show too much time. Daisy Edgar-Jones is one hell of an actress. Taylor’s vocals in this are just absolutely stunning. It definitely matched the whole vibe.

Never heard of this story, but it sure looks and sounds interesting. Also, looking forward to Taylor’s original song for this film. Put this on my calender 🤔

Finally- a new Taylor Swift song!!!

I think Daisy Edgar-Jones is a great choice for Kya, I loved her in Normal People and so many things about this are exactly as I pictured. The only thing I don’t think they nailed is the costume/styling! I envisioned Kya to look a little more “wild” with more loose home-made hippy style clothing, messier hair etc. She looks extremely put together in a lot of these shots – wearing denim and a shirt! It doesn’t seem exactly fitting for someone who lives in a shack by the swamp.

I’m not a big movie person, but this looks really freaking good. Came here because of Taylor (who, by the way, sounds INCREDIBLE), but I’m staying for the plot.

Daisy and Taylor are a duo that I never thought I would need but now that I saw it I love it ❤️ two incredible women, Daisy it’s an incredible actress and well.. Taylor, there are no words to describe the talent she has. Can’t wait to see the film
