In the year of 1066AC, William the Conqueror is about to embark from Dives-sur-Mer to conquer England. In the event that he would not return alive, Guillaume introduced his son Robert to his loyal barons to receive the ducal throne heritage.

Very good movie. Looks very authentic (even though I do not know how life really was around 1000 a.d., of course). The story is well told. But it ends right when William’s army intends to board the ships to cross over to England. So if you expect to see the famous battle played out, your out of luck.

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. It’s not Avengers, which unfortunately seems to be all some people want these days judging by the comments.
William the Conquerer was the great grandson of Rollo (Rolf the Viking) who married the daughter of King Charles of Francia and was appointed first Duke of Normandy, Francia. Rollo was given the “Christian “name Robiert (Robert).
