ABOUT MOVIE
Based on the novel by Harlan Coben and starring Magdalena Boczarska and Leszek Lichota, “Hold Tight” tells a story about residents of a peaceful neighborhood in the Warsaw suburbs, whose idyllic life comes to an abrupt end when a teenager Adam vanishes into thin air and parents find answers to questions they have never wanted to ask.
Love Harlan Coben stories! I would prefer to hear the film in it’s native tongue rather than dubbed but I know many don’t like to read subtitles so I get it. I’ve always loved different languages.
Looks great! I just wish Netflix would find better voice actors for their foreign films. Generally, the acting is better in the original language and the mediocre voice acting spoils it.
I guess I’ll be watching this with subtitles. The dubbing is terrible.
I’ve no doubt this is going to be good. Well acted, well written, well produced, etc… however — it looks nearly identical to AMC’s “The Killing”, which was also well acted, well written, well produced, etc…. I’m sorry, but I find it extremely difficult to believe no one working on this project was aware of that. But, hey, maybe I’m wrong. It is just a trailer. I guess we’ll see. (Also, hat tip to Twin Peaks… the OG series that made it possible to make shows like this.)
Given how many otherwise high quality productions they are showing I feel that Netflix really need to upgrade their dubbing game! Voice casting in particular is unconvincing and reminds me, unfavorably, of low budget TV shows where one actor often replaces the dialog of several different characters!
I’ve actually read this book when it came out in 2008. Good book. But the twist at the end where it was revealed that the husband killed the son bc he needed a donor and then his wife ends up killing him was a little bit far fetched. Hope they change it up for the movie.
