Basis Point Value

Basis Point Value (BPV) is the dollar amount by which the price of a fixed-income instrument would change if yields moved by one basis point (0.01%).

Example: A fixed-income portfolio with a BPV of $600 per 1 basis point means a 1 bp move in yields would change the portfolio's market value by about $600 in absolute terms; a 5 bp rise would imply roughly a $3,000 decline.
