Deflation
Deflation is a sustained decline in the general price level of goods and services across an economy. It is observed when price indexes such as the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or the GDP deflator show negative inflation rates.
Example: If the broad price level, as measured by the CPI, falls for two consecutive years, that would indicate deflation during that period.
