Open-End Fund
An open-end fund is a mutual fund that issues new shares and redeems existing shares at a price equal to the fund’s net asset value per share (NAV), with the number of shares outstanding changing in response to investor demand.
Example: An investor contributes cash to purchase open-end fund shares via the fund company or a broker, and later redeems shares at the end of the trading day at the NAV.
