Reserve Order
A reserve order is an order type that splits total quantity into a visible portion and a reserve (hidden) portion; only the visible portion sits on the order book, and as it is filled, more shares from the reserve are released to keep a constant display until the entire order is exhausted.
Example: A trader places a reserve order for 100,000 shares of ABC with a display quantity of 5,000 and a reserve of 95,000; only 5,000 shares appear on the book, and as those 5,000 are filled, 5,000 more are released from the reserve to maintain the display until the full 100,000 shares are executed or the order is canceled.
