Triangle Pattern
A triangle pattern is a technical chart pattern formed when price action converges between two trendlines that meet to form a triangle. It signals a potential breakout as volatility narrows and price moves within a shrinking range, but the breakout direction is not certain.
Example: Over several weeks, a stock forms converging highs and lows to create a symmetrical triangle; after the pattern tightens, the price closes outside the triangle on higher volume.
